An Autumn Cheese Hat

A Whimsical and Edible Centerpiece for Your Next Gathering

Who says a cheese board has to look like a cheese board?

As we begin looking ahead to autumn gatherings, we wanted to create something unexpected for the table—part appetizer, part centerpiece, and just whimsical enough to start a conversation.

Our Autumn Cheese Hat begins with Manchego and Pepper Jack, then takes its inspiration from the colors and flavors of the season. Fresh figs, red grapes, apples, dried apricots, walnuts, pecans, rosemary, sage, and lavender transform a traditional cheese board into something meant to be admired—and enjoyed.

Create Your Own

Start with a large round board or platter. Arrange sliced cheese to create the brim, then place your Manchego—or favorite aged cheese wheel—in the center to form the crown.

Wrap fresh chives around the base, then begin layering in seasonal fruits, nuts, and herbs. Let the ingredients fall naturally around the hat rather than trying to make everything perfectly symmetrical. A little abundance is part of the charm.

And don't feel tied to our ingredients. Choose your favorite cheeses and whatever looks beautiful at the market that week. The idea is inspiration, not perfection.

Armand's Tip: If using fresh apple slices, lightly brush them with lemon juice to help prevent browning.

Bring It to the Table

Serve with crusty bread, crackers, a favorite mustard or preserve, and perhaps a bottle of wine. As guests help themselves, the centerpiece slowly becomes part of the gathering—which may be our favorite thing about it.

Consider this a little inspiration as we begin preparing our tables for the season ahead.

🌿 Gather. Savor. Celebrate.
